We’re excited to partner with the Herbert Hoover National Historic Site to host their artist-in-residence Heather Heckel at the public library for a FREE WORKSHOP! Heckel will lead participants in creating Artist Trading Cards.
Artist trading cards are miniature pieces of artwork done on cards the size of traditional baseball or trading cards. ATCs, as they’re sometimes called online, can be done in just about any medium: drawing, painting, collage, or even a combination of elements! The idea is to create a miniature work of art that you can trade with someone else.
So participants in our program will be able to create their own designs on blank artist trading cards, and then interact with each other by exchanging cards! There’s even an optional extension to this activity that would be creating a six-page mini book that the trading card collection can be glued into.
All materials will be provided. This program is not 21-and-over only, but the difficulty level is intended for adults.
Feel free to contact Jessie if you have any questions!
