The West Branch Public Library is happy to announce the return of author Linda Betsinger McCann to speak about her new book, Civilian Conservation Corps in Northeast Iowa. Linda’s new book chronicles the activities of the CCC which include state parks (Backbone, Palisades, Beeds, McBride, Pine Lake) as well as Yellow River Forest, Decorah’s trout hatchery and streams, and the Maquoketa Caves.
Linda is the author of many books, most notably her series of nine Lost county books which include many historical details of places throughout eastern Iowa which no longer exist. An avid historian, Linda visited the WBPL first to promote her book, Lost Cedar County, which is available to check out at the library. Linda’s books will be available for purchase at the event!
