BINGO, LIBRARY PROGRAMS, AND MORE
— ALL FOR ADULTS!
Sign up for the Adult Summer Program to receive a reusable tote bag and bookmark! Complete a Bingo Card and choose a prize from the prize basket. Every completed card will also be entered to win a grand prize at the end of the program. Complete more cards to win big prizes throughout the summer.
All adults are welcome to attend our family programs, as well as special 21-and-over programs in June and July… no signup necessary! Click here or see Adult Programs below for all the details.
Kick your reading into gear this summer! Bingo cards are available at the library with some ideas for you. You can still complete a card by reading books, or you can combine any 5 squares in a row to finish your entry.
Return your bingo card to the library whenever a row has been completed, and pick a prize out of our grown-up prize basket.
If you need a new bingo card before you can make it in the library, you can print one here!
Read a book
Of course, you can always complete an entry just by reading! One Read a Book square may be marked on the card for finishing any adult or teen level book. Yes, you can read teen books like The Hunger Games, Divergent, or The Fault in Our Stars for credit, we just ask that you don’t count picture books or short chapter books to keep it fair for everyone.
Libraries Rock, in more ways than one!
If you’re reading this page on our website, I’m sure you already know that WBPL rocks. But this summer, we’re celebrating all things ROCK. From rock ‘n roll to rocks on the ground, we’re excited to come up with as many rock puns as we can. Whether you pick up an instrument, go to a concert, or study geology, you can earn prizes from the library! As always, our bingo cards are full of ideas to get you started.
Summer library programs for grownups only! Some adult programs are held After Hours for patrons age 21 and over. You may bring beer, wine, or wine coolers if you feel so inclined. Tell your friends! We usually have a lot of fun. 🙂
Library… After Hours – GREASE 40th anniversary party!
Saturday, June 23rd 7pm
Adults 21 and over can come to the library for root beer floats, popcorn, and a special screening of Grease! If you’d prefer to have an adult beverage, beer, wine, and wine coolers are also permitted.
Saturday, July 14th 2pm
Herbert Hoover National Historic Site’s Artist-In-Residence Heather Heckel will give a free workshop at the library! Heckel is going to lead adults in creating artist trading cards.
Artist trading cards are miniature pieces of artwork done on cards the size of traditional baseball or trading cards. ATCs, as they’re sometimes called online, can be done in just about any medium: drawing, painting, collage, or even a combination of elements! The idea is to create a miniature work of art that you can trade with someone else.
So participants in our program will be able to create their own designs on blank artist trading cards, and then interact with each other by exchanging cards! There’s even an optional extension to this activity that would be creating a six-page mini book that the trading card collection can be glued into.
All materials will be provided. This program is not 21-and-over only, but the difficulty level is intended for adults.
