BINGO, LIBRARY PROGRAMS, AND MORE

— ALL FOR ADULTS!

Sign up for the Adult Summer Program to receive a reusable tote bag and bookmark!  Complete a Bingo Card and choose a prize from the prize basket.  Every completed card will also be entered to win a $100 Lowe’s gift card at the end of the program.  Complete more cards to win big prizes throughout the summer.

ALL adults are welcome to attend our special 21-and-over programs in June and July… no signup necessary!  Click here or see Adult Programs below for all the details.

Build a Better World

Kick your reading into gear this summer!  Bingo cards are available at the library with some ideas for you.  You can still complete a card by reading books, or you can combine any 5 squares in a row to finish your entry.

Return your bingo card to the library whenever a row has been completed, and pick a prize out of our grown-up prize basket.

Note: Please do not mark anything that was done prior to June 1st 2016. We are thrilled that you were already thinking about the program before the official start, but to be fair to everyone else, please don’t include those items for the contest.

Register online!

You can now register online for the adult reading program!  Click here to go to the registration form.  If you registered in person at the library, you do not need to fill out this form.

If you’d like to print your own bingo card, click here for a pdf!

Read a book

Of course, you can always complete an entry just by reading!  One Read a Book square may be marked on the card for completing any adult or teen level book (yes, you can read teen books like The Hunger Games, Divergent, or The Fault in Our Stars for credit).

While you’re reading, please consider joining the WBPL Goodreads group and reviewing your book in the library catalog so that others know what you think!

Build a better world, help your community, or work on personal improvements!

There are lots of ways to interpret this year’s “build a better world” theme!  WBPL would like to encourage you to build for yourself, for your community, and for the whole world.  Our Bingo cards are full of ideas to get you started!  You can physically build something — work on a craft or home improvement project, build with legos — or build a better world by helping humanity or the environment.

Adult Programs

Summer library programs for grownups only!  Adult programs are held After Hours for patrons age 21 and over.  You may bring beer, wine, or wine coolers if you feel so inclined.  Tell your friends!  We usually have a lot of fun.  🙂

June 23rd 7pm – Adult LEGO Party

LEGOs aren’t just for kids.  Building with LEGOs is a great way to unwind, work your brain, and exercise your creativity.  Oh, and also it’s FUN!  We’ll haul out the library’s LEGO stash for you to play with, but you can bring a BLOCK OR BRICK-SHAPED snack to share… and an adult beverage if you want.  😉  We’ll be showing The LEGO Movie, too, if you just want to kick back and relax (it’s not just a kids movie, we promise).  We’ll even be giving away a nice LEGO set as a door prize!

July 21st 7pm – After Hours Movie Night

The Lost City of Z

Come see the movie based on the book!  At the dawn of the 20th century, British explorer Percy Fawcett (Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam) journeys into the Amazon, where he discovers evidence of a previously unknown, advanced civilization that may have once inhabited the region. Despite being ridiculed by the scientific establishment, which views indigenous populations as savages, the determined Fawcett, supported by his devoted wife (Sienna Miller), son, and aide-de-camp, returns to his beloved jungle in an attempt to prove his case.

We’ll make fresh popcorn, but you can bring your own snacks and beverages, if you’d like!
