September 24, 2016 –
Meet and Greet with Iowa authors Shirley and Ray Hendrickson!
Saturday, September 24
10:00am
West Branch Public Library welcomes authors Shirley and Ray Hendrickson! Now retired, Ray and Shirley lived and worked for most of their lives in Iowa and around the Midwest. After moving back to Iowa from Arizona in 2004 (couldn’t stay away!), they opened a Bed & Breakfast in Iowa City, where they hosted writers visiting the University of Iowa from all around the world.
Still not ready to live the retired life after they sold the B&B, the couple was inspired to try their hand at writing. Shirley wrote a book about their experiences in Iowa City, called Memoirs of the Mission House Bed and Breakfast. Ray followed soon after with a book about growing up in small town Iowa, Yarns by Ray. After sharing their own life experiences, Shirley and Ray hope to inspire others to remember special times and record them for future generations.
We hope you’ll join us on Saturday morning for what should be a great program!
