WBPL is proud to support our local businesses!
The library isn’t just for families. We provide support for local business owners and nonprofit organizations, too!
The library’s community room is open to anyone, free of charge, including businesses! Just note that you cannot charge admission, and you have to pay the City of West Branch’s public property vendor fees if you want to sell anything in the room. It is available on a first-come-first-served basis and arrangements can be made to be used outside of normal library operating hours.
Wondering what the community room can be used for?
- The library can offer a convenient midway point to meet a client. The community room offers a quiet, private location to discuss your business interests, just a few minutes from interstate 80.
- Running a home-based business? The library offers several comfortable places to get some work done away from the house.
- We’d love to help you host your training sessions! The room contains tables, chairs, whiteboard, and projection system (please let the library staff know that this will be needed). It also contains a small sink and counter area with a small refrigerator to store perishables for longer sessions.
For further details, visit the Community Room page to check availability, view rules and regulations, and request a time slot.
Wi-Fi and Internet Access
To run a business, you need internet access. The library has all the internet you need! If yours is out, you want to get some work done outside of the home, or are travelling, the library has a free wireless internet option for you to use.
In the library, we have high speed internet access, perfect for streaming video and Zoom conferences. We have computers and laptops available.
We also have mobile hotspots and Chromebooks available to check out, so you can take internet back to the office or on a trip!
For details on the library’s wireless internet including policies and directions, please visit the wi-fi page.
Printing, Copying, Faxing, Scanning, and Notary
With any business, it’s likely that you may have to copy, print, or fax documents. The library offers all of these services at only the cost to maintain the services (pay for paper, toner, etc.). You don’t have to worry about your own printer running out of ink!
You can print or copy up to 5 pages in black and white for free, then it only costs 10 cents per page. Color costs 50 cents per page. Faxing costs $1 for the first page and 50 cents each additional page.
Scanning documents to your email is free!
We also have a free notary service available during all open hours.
