With the latest information and recommendation from the Iowa Department of Public Health, the West Branch Public Library will be closing due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus through the state. We value your safety as well as ours and we want to see you all as soon as we’re able to reopen.
This is a fast-moving and very fluid situation and we will be working with community officials and the library board of trustees to deem when best to reopen.
If you have materials checked out, you may keep them until we reopen. You do not need to come to the library to drop them off. Most items will have the due dates automatically extended until we reopen. If there are overdue items showing on your account page, you may renew or ignore them, since no fines will be charged.
In this time, we would like to remind you of our online services such as electronic books, audiobooks, and magazines through bridges.overdrive.com; we’ll also be allocating additional funding to digital collections during this time.
Please also consider trying Kanopy, a service we’ve started to help people pass time during this period.
