Reference & Readers Advisory Breakout

Going through the process of the Reference Interview, what are some questions you can come up with that could help determine exactly  what the person is looking for? What are some unique things you have to keep in mind given the scenario?

Please assign someone in your group to write down and speak for the group.

Room 1: A boy of about 8 comes up to the desk by himself and says he needs to find a book about animals.

Room 2: An older woman asks if you can help her find cemetery records.

Room 3: A Hispanic gentleman comes up to the desk with a young girl, and she asks “where are the books about jobs?”
